In the twenty-first century there will be three sources of world power: wealth, political power, and information. Whoever can fully hold information will get control of power. Therefore, with the organization, transmission and utilization of information as their essential task the professional academic librarians will be more important in the new century. In the world information battle how to win the victory in holding and utilizing information resources for our country is really the indispensable mission of the academic librarians at all levels and should be the focus of our joint efforts in research and development and our mutual expectation for the realization of this objective.
